You’re Almost Done!
It’s the final day of our series to get you started as a mompreneur! Yay! It’s been a lot of work to get here, but that’s what being a mompreneur is – work. Don’t expect anything to come easy!
Let’s set up your first Etsy listing! Make sure you have a product with pictures that you can list for sale.
We’ll cover setting up Amazon, Facebook, and other marketplaces in different tutorials. For now, we’re just setting up on Etsy because it is easiest and the most tested path for crafters like us.
Set up Etsy Account for Selling
Login to your Etsy account, which should have been created already if you’ve been following my mompreneur bootcamp (hint: day 6). Inside of Etsy, find the link to “Sell on Etsy”:
You are required to list at least one item for sale, and that will cost you $0.20 . They ask you a bunch of questions, and you enter in a lot of personal details as well as bank information.
Configure Your Shop
At the end of setting up your shop, you’ll be presented with a screen that is your shop. Take the time to set up your own little shop! Make sure to click the “edit shop” button and start editing:
- Main image for your shop
- Banner
- Your own personal profile (picture + whatever bio you wish to share)
- Shipping policies
- Return policies
- FAQ
One important setting is the ability to ship internationally on a per-item basis. Are you willing to ship internationally? Make sure to set that appropriately – it’s at the bottom of the listing page for each listing (the shipping policies section).
You’re a Mompreneur!
You are now officially a mompreneur – you have your first item up for sale!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!
What’s Next?
Now comes the super important part. It’s time to educate yourself on marketing so that you can bring customers to your listing and make then an irresistible offer for your product. If you can master that, your mompreneur business is going to crush it!
That’s the essence of the my entire mompreneur blog – how to market your products!
