Hi all!
My 4 year old has a weekly playdate with a few of his friends. I love creating crafts for all of them using my Cricut!
St. Patrick’s Day is coming soon so we made rainbows!
I found an image I liked and used the “upload” feature in the Cricut to get the outline.
Next I cut out the design with my Cricut Maker. And used my roll of permanent Oracal vinyl and my favorite Angel transfer paper. I love this transfer paper because it is just sticky enough (not too sticky) and it’s clear so you can see where to place the design.
My friend had brought over these canvases so I stuck the design on… it was a little difficult because the vinyl did not stick very easily to the canvas… but I found if I did it slowly it did come off.
I thought I had it all set up with paper plates full of tempera paint colors, lots of brushes and water… BUT they are 3 and 4 year olds who were very eager to get started! So I scrambled to show them where the colors went in order…
Later I realized… I should have planned for it to be a hot mess canvas and just let them cover the whole thing with all sorts of rainbow colors and sparkles! Either way – they had fun and the vinyl came off as one giant sticker.
What I learned is…just have fun and relax! You can bet the 3 and 4 year olds will.
Kellen later added the love notes to Mom and Dad when I asked him to sign his name.
Happy Crafting!
