Legoland Reveal!
I always love to surprise the kids with special vacations in a fun way!! So when my friend asked me to do a Legoland reveal – I was super excited!!
Here’s what I included:
1. the box!
I got this box from a local craft store and added a bright red ribbon. It was the perfect size to include all the goodies for this trip!
2. scavenger hunt
I like to start off with a scavenger hunt for trip reveals…always a fun way to build excitement! This one was a Valentine’s Day gift, so I personalized it for the kids.
Here’s the one I used:
3. special sign
At the end of the scavenger hunt I wanted the surprise vacation to be obvious to the kiddos! I found this font at a free font site and copied the logo from the web.
4. countdown sign
I created these LEGO people by taking an image from my search engine, saving it, then printing and cutting it out with the Silhouette software. I wanted something tangible for the kids to countdown with – they can take off one person each day until it’s time to go on their special vacation!
5. keychains
These are fun LEGO keychains for each of the kids. I used my Silhouette machine to create a vinyl initial to personalize them for the kids. I also downloaded a tag outline and cut that out with the machine as well.
6. sunglasses
I added the name to these sunglasses. I also found an image of a LEGO head, saved it, then used the trace feature on the Silhouette machine to outline the shape of the head as well as the sunglasses and smile.
7. monogrammed bows
This was one of my favorite projects in the box!! Since I have 3 boys I don’t often get the chance to try out “girly” things! Bows have changed a lot since I was little. I was excited to see how the iron on glitter would adhere to the grosgrain material.
It was also my first time trying out a monogram! I played around with many fonts before I came up with my favorite.
8. countdown calendar
I wanted to have a concrete calendar for the kids so they can understand the concept of days and can “X” off the days leading up to the trip. I love the excitement of looking forward to fun occasions!
9. custom crayons
I had made lots of LEGO crayons for my son’s birthday and had leftovers, so it was great to include these in the box. They were A LOT of work! I was glad to have tried it out but not sure I will do it again! They do look super cute. I got the LEGO molds from the LEGO store and melted the crayons.
10. name signs with a treat
And last but not least, I used the print and cut feature of the Silhouette software to make these little people with their names on them. I stuck in a festive cake pop as well. Here’s a tutorial if you are interested in making cake pops.
So…. hopefully these ideas were helpful if you are planning a trip with your loved ones! I can’t wait to go back to Legoland! Hope this family has a FABULOUS time!
Happy Crafting!
